But where to get money for a car? Thank goodness we don't drive very much, just the kids to school and so on. In fact, we _could_ live without a car for a while if absolutely neccessary because everything we need (school, work, grocery store, etc) can be reached either by walking, biking, or public transport (train), so in that regard we're lucky. We had to pay to have them dig from the county line up to the house. What was unexpected was that the water line they had to dig to was way up on our property as opposed to closer to the border. It's not going to bankrupt us of course, but stil...argh! That's a lot of DVD's I could have bought with that dough :) You’re absolutely right. Doesn't sound right, but maybe it differs by county/state (I'm in PA).
