Gabbo wasn’t all that great but his agent must have been phenomenal.

Gabbo’s one talent was that he could manipulate Otto with a hand held remote control and (supposedly) throw his voice while eating, smoking, or talking. In the restaurant, he doesn’t even seem to be paying attention as Otto sings “The Lollipop Song.”

On stage their act consists of Gabbo petulantly telling Otto to shut up, while Otto gets off some mildly amusing zingers. And somehow, Gabbo becomes the headliner of the Manhattan Revue and rides around New York in a limo with the Gabbo coat of arms on the door.

...We go now to a glitzy Manhattan restaurant, a large open place, with a full band entertaining the diners. The walls and doorways are in that beautiful art deco style that was so popular in the 1920s (I love art deco and am eagerly awaiting its comeback).

Me too! Great review, it sounds like this movie was one thought provoking cinema.
