Well, I was slumming it in YouTube the other day and came across one of the most ludricrous fight scenes I ever remember seeing. Yes, the pommel horse fight scene in the Village of the Crazies from, yes, Gymkata! It really brought a tear to my eye, it’s so perfectly ridiculous, what with the mob of angry onlookings just coming at him 1 by 1 instead of attacking en masse, the horrible foleyed “smack” sounds, the..the…well…the Gymkata-ness of the whole damned thing.

I remember seeing that somewhere, and wondering if the collective I.Q. of the village was less than 50. All anyone would have to do is use one of the weapons ( I.E. pitchforks, rakes, hoes, hatchets, etc. ) and kill the guy. Lucky for him they had an aversion to rational thinking.
I never saw this movie. But now I’ll probably have to. That fight scene was, in it’s own insane way, perfect. A pommel horse – in a plague ridden medieval village!
